Hi, Light Sensor: The jury is still out, depending on whose advice you choose to follow. Dairy protein (mainly casein) creates some health issues according to experiments cited in The China Study (e.g., when taken in at 20% of calories). In fact, the amount of protein for daily intake ranges from 5% to more than 20% of total calories. It is not about the calories. It is about how different proteins are metabolized, and a there are a LOT of them! Right now I am partial to pea protein for my protein shakes.
